The Barcelona Boat Show rolls back into Port Vell

The Barcelona International Boat Show takes leave of the palace grounds in Fira de Barcelona. The event will be held this year only in the Port Vell of Barcelona, where there will be a combined floating and dry exhibition space . Theshow is also 4 days less in duration and advancing their dates to September.

The economic crisis takes its tollon the Boat Show, which last year celebrated its 50th anniversary. The show led by Luis Conde has decided to reduce its structure to adapt "to the new needs of exhibitors and visitors in a difficult economic and sector."
From now on, the show will no longer occupy the halls of the Gran Via exhibition center and become essentially floating, a format already used rooms rivals, such as those held in Cannes and La Rochelle (France), Southampton (United Kingdom) and Genoa (Italy).

The lounge has also decided to forward the dates of the event, taking place between 26th and 30th of September. Only five days compared to the nine-days. According to sources in the organization, in September the days are longer and warmer weather, which may encourage more sailing enthusiasts.

The new approach to the Boat Show has been agreed between Fira de Barcelona and the National Association of Marine (Anen), which considers that the new format "combines the possibility of attracting more buyers with the need to adjust the cost of participation for exhibitors. "
