Growth in the nautical sector gives rise to optimism in the upcoming Boat Show

The growth in boat sales during the past year has raised the expectations ahead of the 31st Palma International Boat Show, which will take place from 30th of April to 4th of May.

According to the information given by the Directorate General of the Merchant Navy to the Spanish Nautical Trade Association (ANEN), during the month of March 283 recreational yachts were registered in Spain. This translates to an increase of 15,51% compared to the same period last year, when 245 vessels were registered.

The new data confirms a sustained growth in the sector, as the year to year data also for the first three months of the year shows an increase by 5,5% compared to the first quarter of last year.

This growth is accompanied by a similar increase (18%) in the second hand boat market, to 1.262 registrations from the 1.069 in March 2013.
