The Confederació d'Associacions Empresarials of Islands (CAEB) has delivered the VI Environmental Awards on Tuesday 5th of June (World Environment Day), in alphabetical order in Astilleros de Mallorca , Estel Engineering and Works, and La Caixa. Finalists also awarded with a diploma in recognition of his work have were Blau Mediterranean, Castillo Hotel Son Vida, Mallorca Club de Mar, Olimar Hotels, Palma Pictures, St. Crispin, and Sol Menorca. The event was attended on behalf of theNautical Association of the Balearic Islands (AENB) its president, Margarita Dahlberg.
AENB want to congratulate all the winners and especially Astilleros de Mallorca and Club de Mar a very important award confirms that awareness is the marine industry with the care of our environment.In addition, Astilleros de Mallorca is a motivator that generates a lot of work for other companies in the marine industry.
Founded in 2006 there were a total of 77 nominations for these awards with 18 empresas companies winning..The resulting event was presented by the president of the CAEB, Josep Oliver, who noted that "our companies know that caring for the environment is a key factor for competitiveness, especially in the times we live in, and in a community like ours, especially devoted to tourism. " In the analysis of applications were considered under the merit basis of the call, such as the number and scope of actions, the preventive nature of the actions undertaken, the economic efficiency and environmental performance in terms of measures adopted, promoting environmental culture in the company and its scope, the commitment to technological innovation, management or implementation, integrating environmental criteria into the management of the company, the involvement and participation of workers, and the trajectory of the company regarding environmental performance. The president of the business confederation said also that "I congratulate all finalists for their work and encourage them to continue on this path they have undertaken for the environment. This work fills me with pride and deserves public recognition, above all, to serve as a reference and help raise awareness throughout society. "
